It’s not like they can’t do ads choice survey like other podcasts. It’s not like they can’t, again at a bare minimum, asks to go for certain types of ads like cancer center and avoid other types, like blasting Banda songs of Amazon Prime Music. It’s not like they can’t voice this to iHeart. On that note, IMO TC podcasts creators also share responsibilities to keep their podcasts ethical and decadent even they aren’t publishing their podcasts on their own and have total control. Ads is a necessary evil, but still can be used responsibly. To me a company that doesn’t do the bare minimum of differentiating the ads among their podcasts isn’t ethical and decent. Which is why I don’t really listen to any of iHeart’s TC podcasts. It’d be great if there are more decent alternatives out there.

The contents are almost entirely consisted of descriptions and speculations of numerous reporters no direct interviews with main characters, not even their lawyers, and rarely using trial audio recordings or transcripts. It goes on a tangent to other cases in the county or nearby counties. Sections of scripts are repeated, and with all the more-to-come and bum-bum-bum sound effects, it feels like a super long trailer of a podcast. The ads are obnoxious and disrespectful to the victim and their families. But while I want to follow this case very much, listening to Piketon Massacre to me has been… painful. I’m aware I’m likely on the picky side, since what I usually listen / have listened to are Court Junkie, Hunting Warhead, Criminal, Your Own Backyard, In the Dark, and Bear Brook. Does anyone have another short series or a single episode that you can recommend? I’ve searched a bit here and out on the internet but couldn’t really find anything other than Pink Moon Murder, which has mixed reviews.
